PRINT FOR BAND MERCH

The merch table pays for the tour.

Print band t shirts, die cut stickers, hoodies, and show tickets for gigs, tours, and release nights.

How to plan it.

A merch table works on price ladder logic. A cheap sticker gets someone to stop and reach for a wallet, a shirt is the decision they came ready to make, and a hoodie is the one fan in twenty who wants the expensive thing. Missing the bottom rung costs you the whole ladder.

Design for a dark room. Fine lines and low contrast that look good on a screen disappear on a black shirt under stage lighting. One bold mark beats a detailed illustration almost every time.

Order sizes based on who actually comes to your shows, not an even spread. Most bands run out of medium and large first and finish a tour holding extra small.

Before you order.

  • Print stickers as the entry price item, not an afterthought
  • Test the artwork on the actual garment color before the run
  • Skew the size mix toward medium and large
  • Take cash and card, because the merch table is where sales are lost
