PRINT FOR CELEBRATIONS

One plan for every party.

Print party stickers, napkins, favor bags, menu cards, thank you cards and posters for birthday parties, baby showers and graduations, with the sizes that fit.

How to plan it.

Birthdays, baby showers and graduations ask for the same small set of printed pieces: something that seals and labels, something on the table, something that goes home with guests and something that says thank you afterwards. Plan them together and they read as one design instead of a pile of separate ideas.

Pick one color and one typeface and repeat them on every piece. Order about ten percent more than your guest count, and allow delivery time before the date with a few days of slack. The sections below give each occasion its own kit.

Birthday party.

Party print is decoration that also does a job. Stickers seal favor bags and label drinks, napkins carry the color scheme across the table, and a small menu card saves you answering the same question thirty times.

Order favor bags slightly larger than you think. Filling them is the last job on the day and a tight bag is the thing that makes you late. Favor bags are 5.75 × 8 in, in white or kraft paper with a grease resistant glassine lining, so a cookie can go straight in.

  • Check napkin ply and size if food is being served, not just the print
  • Seal favor bags with a sticker in the party color

Baby shower.

A shower runs on a small set of repeated pieces rather than one big statement. Stickers seal and label, favor bags send something home, and thank you cards close the loop afterwards, which is the part most people forget to order in advance.

Keep the palette quiet and the typography legible. Scripts are lovely on an invitation and hard to read on a small label, so save them for the largest piece and use something plainer everywhere else. Leave the name off printed pieces if it is not being announced yet.

Graduation.

Graduation print splits into two jobs: telling people it happened, and hosting the party afterwards. Announcement postcards handle the first and can go out before the date; the party pieces can be ordered later once numbers settle.

A large photo poster does more for a party room than a dozen small decorations, and it becomes the backdrop everyone photographs. Use the original photo file, because a phone screenshot enlarged to 24 × 36 in will look soft. Yard signs come in shapes that include a graduation cap, in weather resistant 4 mm corrugated plastic, for the lawn on the day.

Thank you cards matter here more than at most events, because graduation gifts usually come from people who were not in the room.
